What is Preform
Pet ( polyethylene therephthalate ) is the raw material for producing mineral water bottles and carbonated drinks bottles. This material is first
heated by the technical machinery and is changed to preform which looks like laboratory tubes.
After this stage, the preform bottles are changed to ready-for-use bottles using bolw molding machines. Then they are filled by filling
machines and sent to the market.
Different types of preform:
Used for Carbonted Drinks
Preform bottles used to be filled with carbonated drinks are all 28 milimeters in diameter.
Among these 28 mm bottles weighing 18 and 21 grams are used for 250 cc non-alcoholic carbonated drinks.
Also 28 mm bottles weighing 21 grams are used for non-alcoholic 300 cc carbonated drinks,
and 28 mm bottles weighing 42 and 45 grams are used for 1500 cc non-alcoholic carbonated drinks.
Used for Mineral Water
Preform bottles used to be filled with mineral water are all 30 milimeter in diameter.
For 500 cc mineral water bottles, 30 mm preforms weighing 16.09, and
for 1/5 litre mineral water bottles, 30 mm preforms weighing 30 grams are used.
